The New Working With Children Check is coming soon

The Minister for Family and Community Services Pru Goward and Minister for Citizenship and Communities Victor Dominello have announced the new Working With Children Check will commence from 15 June 2013. The Ministers have also announced its legislative functions and operations will be located with the NSW Children’s Guardian, Ms Kerryn Boland.

The legislative processes that support these new arrangements are currently being progressed. The preparation work that supports the implementation of the new Check system remains unaffected and will continue as planned. 

Minister Dominello has also indicated strong support for consultation with key stakeholders about developing a stronger advocacy and policy structure for children and young people.
