Eleven-year-old Meg Thompson from Millthorpe in central west NSW spent Universal Children’s Day on 28 October as the Children's Commissioner.
Meg was chosen from more than a hundred children and young people who entered our 'Be the Commissioner for a day' competition. Meg's winning entry focused on the issue of bullying, how it affects kids' lives and the different ways bullying can occur.

Meg was given a special tour of NSW Parliament House and then went to Parliamentary Question Time where Minister West announced that she had been appointed Children’s Commissioner for a day.
