Australian Theatre for Young People
ATYP - Australian Theatre for Young People - runs innovative workshops, productions and scholarships for young people wanting to be involved in all aspects of theatre.

Australian Youth Music Council (AYMC)
The AYMC supports young Australians to develop their music across a diverse range of genres and fields. They work with the Music Council of Australia. The AYMC website has a youth music database with information and links to events, opportunities, peak bodies, advocacy and service organisations.

Cartoonster - Animation Tutorials
Cartoonster is a fun, free and interactive website which has tutorials to help you learn to draw for animation.

Indent
If you're interested or involved in entertainment for young people visit this site. Indent can also help you with funding for an event.

InkNews
Interactive News for Kids lets you and your classmates set up and publish your own on-line newspaper.

National Youth Week
National Youth Week happens in April. It's your chance to get involved with art, music and other events involving young people.

Lifeline provides 24-hour telephone counselling on 13 11 14 for the cost of local call. This service is available to anyone, anywhere in Australia, at any time day or night. The site also has information about mental health, getting help, services available and suicide prevention resources.

Teaching children to cope with bullying
There is a range of counselling skills and strategies which can enhance a victim of bullying's ability to cope and stop the cycle of bullying.

Drugs and alcohol

Don't turn a night out into a nightmare
On 10 March 2008, the Australian Government announced the $53.5 million National Binge Drinking Strategy to address the high levels of binge drinking among young Australians. Binge drinking among young people is a community wide problem that demands a community wide response, including an emphasis on young people taking greater personal responsibility for their behaviour.

Aboriginal Justice Advisory Council
The AJAC is comprised of Aboriginal community members whose role is to provide advice to the New South Wales Government on law and justice issues effecting Aboriginal people in this state.  They have a booklet called for kids called Our Kids: Stay Safe, Stay Strong Childrens Activity Book, which you can find on their publications page.

CAPS runs a 24 hour National Telephone Support Line on 1800 688 009 for people who have been abused or need support. The website also has free info and posters for kids and adults.

Foundation for Young Australians
This site has information about scholarships and grants for young people and organisations that work with them. Check it out if you know of a service or program that helps young people with problems, has excelled in a particular area and wants some help to go further or are interested in developing leadership skills.

Help for victims of sexual assault
Sexual assault is a crime. Its impact can be devastating. However, recovery is possible and there is help available to assist you.

Kids Help Line
Kids Help Line is a confidential counseling service for kids aged 5 to 18. It's free and confidential. You can e-mail them or phone them on 1800 55 1800.

Mental Health Line
The Mental Health Line operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides a telephone triage assessment and referral service staffed by mental health clinicians. It will provide advice about clinical symptoms, the urgency of the need for care and local treatment options for service providers, such as general practitioners, police and ambulance officers. The number is 1800 011 511.

Healthy Kids portal
Every kid deserves to be healthy. Good food habits and daily physical activity – if you have these, you're well on the way to a healthy life. Find out more at the Healthy Kids portal.

Healthy Minds
Make A Noise has lots of good stuff about dealing with depression, anxiety and mental illness. The rest of the site also has no-nonsense advice about healthy living.

The site provides general information on living with diabetes for 16 - 25 year olds and covers 'everyday' topics like school, work, travel, driving and general health.

Premier's Council for Active Living
Currently just over half of the NSW population meets the recommended level of at least 30 minutes of physical activity on most days of the week. There are lots of opportunities for all of us to be more active, more often. Find out more by reading the Why Active Living? statement launched by surf champion Layne Beachley.

Legal Aid HelpLine
Info about the free legal aid helpline for children and young people (1800 101 810) - plus a link to 'Get Street Smart', which has info about your rights.

Legal Help: Law for Young People
This site from the Law Society of NSW offers fast help with a range of legal issues, a regular publication called Legal Eagle and details on how to run Mock Trial competitions. They have a free-call number: 1800 357 300.

Legal advice
National Children's & Youth Law Centre Provides free legal information, advice and representation to children and young people in Australia, particularly to disadvantaged young people under 18 years of age. Phone: 02 9398 7488.

Mynite
Mynite provides a basic summary of some of the most relevant laws that apply to you and your friends when you are out having fun. Even if you have not turned 18, most of these laws will apply to you. There are online quizzes just for fun. New quizzes are added regularly, tips on planning parties and upcoming events too.

The Australian Mobile Telecommunications Authority is the peak industry body representing Australia's mobile phone industry. You can get lots of information about mobiles on this site.

Australian Broadcasting Authority
Tips for young people about being 'phone smart' and staying safe

Legal Aid HelpLine
Legal Aid offers free legal advice for the cost of a local call (as long as you call from a land line and not a mobile). Your call will be completely private and the number won't appear on a phone bill: 1800 806 913.

Listen Up
Listen Up! is a practical information kit covering all facts of mobile phone usage for young people in NSW.

Mobile phone recycling
Help raise funds for kids with severe disabilities and provide modern communications to third world countries by recycling your old mobile phone.

Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman
The TIO helps consumers who have been unable to resolve a complaint directly with their telephone company or Internet service provider. The TIO is independent of government and industry interests.

The Australian Communications Authority
