Parent employment and child wellbeing: This study looks at how the quality of a parent’s job affects their role as a parent.

Trends in Child Deaths in NSW from 1996 to 2005: Investigating whether child deaths have significantly increased or decreased over the past decade for particular causes of death based on information such how old they are and where they live.

Children and young people’s well-being: Investigated what well-being means to 126 children aged between eight and 15 years from around New South Wales.

Children at work: Examined the work experiences of 11,000 children and young people in Years 7 to 10.

AWARE (A Workplace and Applicant Risk Estimate): Evaluated the Working With Children Check Risk Assessment model and developed a new model for estimating risk known as AWARE. We will continue to improve AWARE on the basis of new research findings and the data we collect through the use of the model.

Sudden unexpected infant deaths: Examined the sudden unexpected deaths of infants in NSW and made nine recommendations for change to help prevent deaths and better respond to sudden unexpected infant deaths when they do occur.

Suicide and risk-taking deaths of children and young people: Investigated suicide and risk-taking deaths of young people in NSW aged between 12 and 17 years over the period 1996 to 2000.

Fatal assault of children and young people: Investigated fatal assaults of 60 children and young people in NSW between January 1996 and June 1999.

Fatal assault and neglect of children and young people: Investigated fatal assault and neglect deaths of children and young people in NSW between July 1999 and December 2003.

Paid Maternity leave: The June 2007 nation-wide Newspoll survey we commissioned with the National Foundation for Australian Women and the National Investment for the Early Years (NIFTeY) found that there was wide support for paid maternity leave (76%) for working women.
