We spoke with children and young people aged 4-19 years in alternative learning centres, youth councils, childcare centres, juvenile justice centres, children’s hospital school, as well as young people from non-government schools. These children and young people were from regional, metropolitan and rural areas in NSW.
Most children and young people we spoke with told us that it is important to go to school to learn. For many kids school is also one of the places they make friends and keep friendships.
