This seminar explored how children and young people can be involved in planning for better cities.
The seminar examined:
- Characteristics of child-friendly cities
- Taking children’s needs into account when planning our cities and towns
- How children and young people use cities and how this has changed over time
- Research finings on participation initiatives undertaken by local government to involve young people in planning
The two speakers were:
- Dr Paul Tranter, Senior Lecturer in the School of Physical, Environmental and Mathematical Sciences at the University of New South Wales
- Dr Claire Freeman, Director of the Planning Programme, University of Otago , Dunedin , New Zealand .
