Welcome to the Certificate for Self Employed People.

  • For self employed people: the Certificate will demonstrate to your clients that you are not banned by law from working with children.
  • For parents and carers: you can verify that a person you’ve engaged to work with your child is not banned by law from working with children.

Parents and carers should also seek identification, such as a driver's licence, from any self employed person they are engaging to work with children - and make sure that this identification matches with their Certificate.

We have information on getting a certificate and how to verify a certificate, along with fact sheets with everything you need to know about the Certificate for Self Employed People, including replacing a certificate that is lost or damaged, and information for parents.
