The NSW Commission for Children and Young People was established in 1998 by the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998. A review of the legislation is prescribed under section 53 of the Act which requires the Minister to review the Act at five year intervals.

Reminder: new laws for working with children come into force soon

The Minister for Youth, Peter Primrose, reminds employers that tougher measures around the Working With Children Check will soon be in force in NSW and new forms and guidelines are available on the Commission for Children and Young People’s website.
